Friends of Diego Maradona are fearing for his health after the World Cup winner was spotted sober in public.
“His behaviour is becoming less and less erratic. He appeared alert, polite and was walking unaided,” said pal Jorge Handballio after bumping into him in Moscow.
“He wasn’t even flicking V-signs or snogging girls 30 years younger than him.
“We can only fear the worst, that he is falling back into his old ways.”
Argentine Maradona has had a long battle with his sobriety demons, dating back to his shameful exit from USA ‘94 when doctors found traces of blood in his drug system.
“We are hoping an intervention will help get Diego back on track,” Handballio added.
“Friends, family and a well-armed Colombian cartel have pledged to do whatever it takes to help him and get that famous Nose of God working again.”
